MAKEROOM studio is a boutique Interior Design studio led by Melissa Guyatt.
We aspire to design spaces that are as nourishing as they are visually pleasing.
In this way they can be as dynamic as we are: at once energising, inspirational and calming.

As Director of MAKEROOM studio, Melissa Guyatt is an empathetic + artisanal designer and lover of creative thinking.
With a Bachelor of Built Environment, she has spent the past 27 years honing design skills and collecting experience in large scale commercial Architectural practice + iconic design firms in both Brisbane + London.
She has also pursued a love of teaching + product design.
With a wealth of experience across Residential and Commercial design, Melissa is adept at delivering meaningful and thorough design solutions tailored to the needs of clients.
She is inspired by design that has social impact and 'tells a great story' while remaining architecturally confident and timeless.
'I want to design spaces that stand the test of time, using quality materials and making room for life as it evolves and changes.'
Melissa will always be found making or sketching as an exploration of 3D form, attending ceramics classes purely for experimentation and the sake of play, to explore new ideas with no pressure.
